A 20% reduction in the KE of an object moving at 20 mph will leave it moving at 17.89 mph, or a reduction of 0.94 m/s from 8.94 to 8.00 m/s. From the website, the ramps appear to be about 5m long. So using v^2 = u^2 + 2 a s, we can find the deceleration. This works out to about -1.6 m/s^2 or about 0.16g. 1g deceleration is what you would see in a high performance car under maximum braking. 0.5g is nearer the mark for a standard car. So a third of this is a SIGNIFICANT deceleration. This will cause aggravation, to say the least.

Forget the science - it's just stealing. Send the bastards a bill every time you drive over one of these things.
